The New Normal

Three weeks of the new normal and I'd almost stopped checking the locks twice. Almost.

Lily had adapted faster than I had, which said something uncomfortable about both of us. She'd claimed the guard named Priya as "Auntie" within four days, dragging her into tea parties with Glitterhoof and the narwhal. The other guard, a severe woman named Okonkwo who never smiled, got no name at all.
